Personal Statement :
|
My approach to therapy is an integration of elements of cognitive behavior therapy, psychoanalysis, family systems theory, client centered counseling, and neurobiology.
I am interested in working with individuals who want to change long term patterns of thought, emotions, and behavior that lead to depression, anxiety, and interpersonal problems. My 33 years of experience includes extensive work with college and graduate students, veterans, individuals of various ethnicities, and creative individuals. I have had formal training as a psychoanalyst and have taught in colleges and universities in the past.
Until recently I was a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago.
